Robert E. Allen is Retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, AT&T Corporation; a director of Pepsi Cola and director of Bristol, Myers, Squibb. On September 20, 1995: CEO Bob Allen announced his Trivestiture plan to split AT&T into three companies: an equipment manufacturer, later called Lucent Technologies; a computer company; and a communication services company, which would carry the AT&T name.
