1400 - 1599

1400 - 1599, brought new links with optics, architecture and astronomy, which led to the discovery of linear perspective with applications to colour perspective and diminution of form perspective, the first treatise on the subject (Alberti 1434), the first section in a published work (Pacioli 1494), and the first published work devoted specifically to perspective (P‚lerin 1505). It brought preliminary work on anamorphic perspective, awareness of links with planispheric projection, conic sections, map projection, surveying, and the development of instruments for perspectival representation.
