1800 - 1899

1800 - 1899 saw an enormous increase in the range of perspective in terms of mathematics and drawing. In mathematics there were many new connections with descriptive geometry and practical geometry, and developments in projective geometry which brought new links with conic sections. Thanks to developments in both philosophy and education, perspective became increasingly important to curricula of drawing in schools. New attention to technical drawing led to a formalization of hitherto empirical methods of parallel perspective, and the emergence of other branches, such as axonometric and isometric perspective.
